SUBSYSTEMS
DRIVETRAIN:
UNIQUE: Our drivetrain is a custom-designed parallel plate design, made of 6061 aircraft-aluminum CNC-Machined plates
VERSATILE: Thin enough to easily maneuver between poles and able to pass over ground junctions
MANEUVERABLE: Mecanum wheels allow simultaneous translation and rotation in all directions
FAST: Using estimated robot weight and simulations, 312 RPM motors were selected to maximize speed-to-torque ratio.
DAMAGE RESISTANT: Ramming plate and electronics guards protect fragile but crucial components
LIFT:
VERSATILE: Turret is able to rotate more than 720 degrees, allowing for scoring with minimal movement of the drivetrain
FAST: Dual linear slides assemblies powered by 1150 RPM motors able to extend to max height in less than 0.75 seconds
SMOOTH: Turret and Slides are lubricated with lithium grease which minimizes the friction in the system and allows for high precision
STABLE: Cross bracing of the lift system stabilizes the slides even when at max extension
PRECISE: The use of the turret allows us to precisely score during both driver-control and autonomous period
END EFFECTOR:
EFFICIENT: Our unique horizontal extension system allows us to score cones from 2 tiles away with minimal movement of the drivetrain.
FAST: 23" of horizontal extension in 0.5 seconds with instantaneous claw actuation
PRECISE ALIGNMENT: Claw actuation flips the cone up 45 degrees to utilize the bottom of the cone as an alignment guide for depositing.
CONTROLLABLE: Horizontal extension allows us to both achieve a 7 cone auto without movement of the drivetrain, while also allowing versatility in Teleop.
